This series is not yet fully represented.

Having focused on object-worship still-life paintings for a few years, I initially dealt with my subjects through formal qualities that I found attractive. Toys to meat, the consumer is targeted by appeal, to manipulate and to sway decisions.

In addition to my studio practice, this series began as a result of moving back to Philadelphia from Southern Illinois.

I returned home to the Philadelphia area where the culinary climate is drastically different than that of the mid west. It seemed inevitable that the idea of the word "Local" have an impact on my subjects. Communities latch onto just about anything in order convince the world that their identity is unique and ....whatever.

Philadelphia is fat because it likes to eat. I like to eat. There is something beautiful about a pretzel that I cant stop wanting one.
