"Laocoon" This statue was very difficult to sketch since rude tourists often stood next to me to capture just the right image for their own collection. In fact, one guy focused on the composition while slowly nudging me over a few inches just for that extra good picture- that was something I found very polite to do.

Most digital tourists seemed to view europe through their camera LCD screen, never looking up and risking the perfect snap shot escaping their grasp!

This crypt is located under a roman church where there's over 4,000 monks bones displayed in decorative designs on all the walls. The soil found on the floor was brought from the holy land and each monk had his chance to be burried in it until more room was needed - then they'd be recyled as bone mosaic! Even the hanging light fixtures were made of bones.

Ran into Benedetto XVI.
This guy is a hoot to hang with, really.
He's really a nice guy, despite his "evil emperor" good looks.
