"tragetto" the only affordable gondola ride:.50 cents
In areas along the Grand Canal, where bridges are not available,
they offer a quick crossing for a reasonable price savine you a lot
walking. (in Eileen's case, they sang Stevie Wonder songs!)

The City Hospital is actually a beautiful building I believe is housed in an old convent.
I was told that the nuns helped care for the sick and eventually the building became a hospital.
It looks like a great church.
Santa Maria della Salute is a beautiful church at the mouth of the Grand Canal and was built to help appease (bribe) God for relief from the black plague which devastated the Venice Population.
