Tuxford & Tebbutt Blue Stilton
oil on wood, 12x12"
Stilton cheese originated near Melton Mowbray, and is still made in the town at the Tuxford & Tebbutt creamery, one of only six dairies licensed to make Stilton.
This is a rich, creamy blue cheese made from pasteurized milk made in the same building since 1780. It's a traditional farmhouse cheese, and a popular stilton that was gifted to me in this precut portion. I was drawn to the perfect wedge shape and happily painted it atop a gold, foil, reflective board I found at a bakery. The reflection illuminates the shadows and it helps translate that delicious sunshiny milk that I cant seem to get enough of. I really had fun painting this with the reflection and glow.
