Philadelphia Cheesesteak
oil on wood, 10x20"
Finally, I painted THE most iconic food that represents my hometown. The Philadelphia Cheesesteak is often badly made and imposters can be found in various cities around the world. Fortunately for me, there's a great steak made close to my studio, in the Fishtown neighborhood. Joe's Steaks serves a 66 year old recipe and it's stuffed full of tender, juicy thin-sliced beef, topped with cheese (this one I chose American, because I felt it was the most common/popular version of the quintessential Philly cheesesteak).
